The economy, markets, and what they mean for you.
Financial information is everywhere. The harder part is understanding what any of it actually means.
The Applied Investor exists to close that gap. Each week, it connects what is happening in the economy and markets to the decisions, money and everyday lives of ordinary readers: what happened, why it happened, and what it may mean for you.
The Goal
It’s not to tell you what to think.
It’s to give you the understanding to think for yourself.

Why I Built It
I wanted the type of financial resource I would actually want to read.
That meant something useful without requiring an hour to understand, and substantial without being unnecessarily complicated.
When a subject is complex, I would rather explain the complexity than hide behind jargon. The aim is to help you understand what is happening and why, not simply to hand you a conclusion.
The Applied Investor is my attempt to make that process a little easier.
